Emma Schwartz is an Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York with a special interest in investigative journalism and human rights.

​

She holds a masters in journalism from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and brings to each project a concrete set of ethics that protect both her reporting and her sources.

​

Her recent projects include THE GRAB (2024, Magnolia + Participant), POWER OF THE DREAM (2024, Amazon Studios) and BLINDSIDED (2023, CNN + MAX). ​

​

In 2019, she received an International Documentary Association (IDA) award for 

BREWED IN PALESTINE, which she directed and produced.

​​

In recent years, she’s worked on projects with HBO Max, CNN, Amazon Studios, Magnolia Pictures, Frontline, Netflix, GQ Magazine, Time Magazine, PBS, The Washington Post and The Center for Investigative Reporting, among others.

​

Outside of the United States, she has produced work in Zambia, Palestine, India, Argentina, Singapore, China, Dominican Republic, Israel, Jordan, Kenya, Mexico, Ukraine and Nicaragua.​​
